Welcome to our Friends of Kilmorie Page!
The Friends of Kilmorie (FOK) welcome all parents and carers to become involved in their activities. We are a friendly, committed and thriving group who organise social events such as discos, quiz nights, the Christmas Fair and the Summer Barbeque for parents, carers and children. These events also help to raise money to purchase additional equipment and resources for the school which all the children enjoy. We also organise other fund raising events such as our annual sponsored event. The Friends also help the school in other ways, such as serving refreshments after concerts and assemblies.
"It's Our Playground" - The Friends of Kilmorie are teaming up with the children to raise an extra £5000 for some new and exciting playground equipment.
The children will play a vital role in choosing and creating this new exciting play area.
The Children's School Council are aiming to raise £1500 of this total with some great new fundraising ideas.
We're going to kick off the fundraising with a Cake Sale every Friday 21 / 28th November 2008 at 3.30pm in the playground, or the hall if it is wet. So get baking with your kids - all cake donations welcome (nut free please) and come along to taste the goodies. So far we have raised £190 from the cake sales.
A big thank you to all who attended the Autumn Disco - we raised £560
A big thank you to Eva Lee and Kim Hogan for all their years of dedicated fundraising. We would like to welcome Pete Bulley (Chair) and Jayne Corp (Treasurer) to the Friends of Kilmorie.
We would like to congratulate Sam Gray on completing her sponsored 10k run and raising money for Children with Leukeamia. So far she has raised £520 - and there is more money pledged - please catch her if you can if you owe her money.
Our next event is the Christmas Fair, which will be on Saturday 6th December from 11am in the school hall. All the fun of the Kilmorie Christmas Fair - the Friends of Kilmorie are really excited about our up and coming Christmas Fair 2008. We've got lots planned - a jolly Father Christmas, the choir singing Christmas carols, loads of presents to be bought from the craft stall or the Secret Room (Children Only) or the Chocolate Tombola, and lots of tasty goodies for the hungry - mulled wine, mince pies or maybe a plates of Dewaniam's curry.
There will be a Friends of Kilmorie Coffee Morning on Monday 24th November from 9-10am in the staff room. Please come along for coffee, cakes and chat.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday 15th January from 7.30-8.30pm in the Staff Room. Please come along to find out what we do.
