Friday 27th June 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you all have a good week.  I started the week by building on the refugee work we had done the previous week. I gave examples of `famous` refugees such as Bob Marley, Albert Einstein, Luka Modric, Jackie Chan, Feddie Mercury, Mo Farah and Rita Ora. I spoke about the challenges they faced and those faced by refugees in the world today.

Fantastic Sports Day!

Our annual Sports Day was a tremendous success! The children showcased their athletic skills and team spirit in various events, from sprints to relay races. A special congratulations to all the children for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. We also want to extend our gratitude to the teachers and volunteers who made this day possible, particularly Rhiannon and Jane. We hope everyone enjoyed the fun-filled activities and the perfect weather conditions.

We hope the children enjoyed their INSET day and had a restful break. It was a valuable time for our staff to engage in professional development and plan for the upcoming term. We're excited to implement new ideas and strategies to enhance the learning experience for our students.

Warm Weather Ahead

As we head into the weekend and early next week, the forecast predicts warm weather. Please ensure your children come to school prepared with sun hats, water bottles, and sunscreen. Staying hydrated and protected from the sun is essential for their well-being.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Have a wonderful weekend!

Your child will continue their lessons next academic year if we haven’t been informed otherwise.

Return your instrument:

If your child is stopping their instrumental lessons or if leaving school, please return your instrument to the office before the 18th July.  Please make sure you add your child’s name in the instrument’s case.

ABRSM exams:

Some of our children will have their ABRSM exam on Thursday 17th July, and we would like to wish them all good luck. We would also like to thank their tutors for the hard work preparing the children towards their exam.

Happy Friday everyone, we’re in the home stretch of term time, so two quick reminders today about our upcoming fundraising events!

Pride Picnic, Friday 4 July, 3.30pm – 7pm – that’s next Friday!!

To celebrate the inclusivity and love that Pride represents, and support London Pride (taking place on 5 July), we’re holding a relaxed social evening in the school playground. Bring a picnic, a blanket and the whole family - the kids can play, do crafts or get their face painted, and you can chat with fellow parents and carers. Read more here

Carnival of Culture, Saturday 12 July, 12 – 3pm

We hope you’ll join us to celebrate our magnificent community and all the cultures that make us so special at this year’s summer event. To get ready for the day – we’ve got a couple of things we need you to do!

  • Hand in your raffle ticket stubs (with your name and phone number on them) and the money, in the envelope provided, to the office by the 1st July. We’ll draw the raffle on the day of the carnival. Find out
  • Lend us an hour of your time to run a stall. Our blog page explains what each stall requires (we’ve kept it simple, promise!) so please sign up here: https://volunteersignup.org/JXR4K

And for anyone who has spotted our multi-lingual posters on the school gates – these represent the 6 most spoken languages in our school (outside of English). In case you didn’t recognise any of them, they are: Yoruba, Portuguese, Polish, German, French and Spanish.
