Dear Parents and Carers,

Image result for sun clip art clip artImage result for sun clip art clip artWhat a week it’s been! The start of the week brought with it a burst of summer heat, and we were proud of how our school community adapted to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

PE lessons were adjusted to reduce time in the sun, and children had the option to spend lunchtimes in designated ‘cool’ rooms. Afternoons took on a more relaxed pace, allowing everyone to stay calm and focused despite the oppressive heat.

Our Senior Leader Assembly took place on the astroturf, taking advantage of the breeze outdoors, where we reflected on last week’s fantastic Sports Day and continued our exploration of Black History. This week, we celebrated some lesser-known sporting heroes who have made a lasting impact, including Nicola Adams, John Amaechi, Clive Sullivan, Alice Coachman, and Jack Leslie. Their stories inspired thoughtful conversations and admiration across the school.

Year 6 pupils visited their new schools as they prepare to transition to secondary school in September.

This week, Butterflies visited the Transport Museum. Kate’s class visited Mudshute Farm, unfortunately Elis’s class visit was cancelled due to the heat. Sarah C's class visited Kagyu Samye Dzong Buddhist Centre on Wednesday. They were introduced to Buddhism and the essence of Buddhist teachings, and took part in a meditation session. It was a brilliant visit. Thanks to all the parents who helped on the visits.

Elis has taken a small group of Pupil Parliament up to London today to the Houses of Parliament.

Ladybird took up on a journey of learning in our class assembly using the story of Amy Johnson as a travelling guide. Well done Ladybird’s I certainly learnt a lot!

Top Stories Coming Next Week: March 15 - Atlanta Jewish Times

Looking ahead to next week, we’re excited to begin transition activities, helping children get to know their new teachers and prepare for the year ahead. With just a few busy weeks left in the academic year, there’s still plenty to look forward to, particularly 'Peter Pan.'

Wishing you all a restful and sunny weekend!

We have had a number of visits this week.  Jana’s class visited the Lewisham Islamic Centre, Vicky’s class the Science Museum, Rebecca’s class Mudshute Farm and Hannah’s class the Buddhist Temple.

Image result for lost property

A couple of parents have volunteered to lay all the lost property out for parents and children to look through on Tuesday 8th July. It will be out before school, during the school day for children to look through and after school.  On Thursday after school we will hold a Pre-Loved event and items not collected will be available for parents and children for a small donation and then what is left will go to charity.
