Spring term 2022

Our new topic this half term is – Space explorers! To bravely go –

We will be learning about adventurers and explorers in space.

Our Key Question is:  What can we learn from visiting the moon?

We will be reading a variety of fiction and non-fictions texts on the topic of space and space explorations. We will use these as a starting point for a range of writing outcomes including descriptions, posters, letters and short stories.

We will be learning about the moon landings during the space race. We will also be learning about a variety of adventurers and explorers in space in the past and looking at how they can inspire us in the future.

What does the Earth look like from space? Can you identify the different continents?

We will continue to observe the changing seasons, begin to name our body parts and consider how we use our five senses. We will also compare how astronauts keep healthy and happy whilst living on the International Space Station with our own daily routines.

In French we will be learning body parts and singing French version of  head, shoulders, knees an toes.

BUG CLUB

Autumn Term 2021

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a little child was learning all about traditional tales…

What is a traditional tale?

Where do these traditional stories come from?

What are traditional stories told in other counties?

We will find out how these stories have been handed down from generation to generation, long before they were ever written down. We will have fun listening to and telling stories. We will act them out and perform them. We will make our own maps to show where the different characters live. We’ll then explore some alternative versions of these stories and even have a go at writing one ourselves. Where do these traditional stories come from? What are the traditional stories told in other counties?

Are pigs and wolves really like the ones in the story books?

We’ll be finding out more about these animals and hopefully learn that wolves aren’t quite so big and bad after all!

Try  this link for a story time treat.
