WELCOME TO KILMORIE RECEPTION 2025- 26!
We're excited to meet you and hope you are too!
From April to July, expect a few emails to prepare you for your September start.
May: We'll arrange visits to your child's current setting or phone calls with their key workers to learn more about your child. You'll receive an email in the second week of May asking for their current setting, friendship requests and Wrap Around Care interest. If you don't receive this, please email admissions@kilmorie.lewisham.sch.uk.
July: You can visit the school with your child for a short stay and play session in our wild garden. This helps children get familiar with the school, meet new friends, and allows parents to socialise. Parents will also be invited to a brief introduction to Reception coffee morning near the end of July. Your child will receive a booklet with photos of their classroom, important places around the school, and the adults they will see.
September: We'll start with an hour stay and play session for the children while adults attend a meeting with the Assistant Head Teacher for Early Phase. Home visits will also take place.

Stay and Play
The Stay and Play in September lets your child explore their learning environment and meet the teachers. Meanwhile, parents will attend a presentation by the Early Phase Lead, covering details about Reception and the school day, such as the curriculum, reading, lunches, and routines. This hour-long event also provides an opportunity for parents and carers to meet each other.
Home Visits
Home visits help your child settle in and get to know their teacher and teaching assistant in a familiar setting. Although this means starting later than the rest of the school, it's a valuable experience for building a 1:1 relationship with their teachers. You'll receive the date and time in June. The visit will last 20 minutes.

Reception 2026-27
We will be holding a number of new parent tours for children who will be starting school in September 2026. The tours will include a talk from the headteacher, Dennis, and a tour from a senior leader. Tours are capped at 20 families, and we ask that only two adults attend from each family attends a tour. We look forward to seeing you on one of the dates!
