Year Six
Welcome to Year 6, the final year at Kilmorie! Children are now increasingly independent and can make many decisions about their learning with less support. They begin to develop more resilience, and they also start to become more aware of themselves as learners and as young people. Independence also develops through the residential trip at the beginning of the year. SATs tests are carried out in May and children will be prepared for these while at the same time continuing valuable learning across the whole curriculum. Wide-ranging topics take us from the Amazon Rainforest to the London of the Windrush. This year is also about preparing for the move to secondary school, with visits and applications in the Autumn term, offer day in March, and transition work in the Summer term.
